Protein A agarose binds to the immunoglobulin G and M of many mammalian species. The product is protein A chemically linked to beaded agarose through a stable covalent linkage. The immobilized protein A on the beaded agarose can be utilized for the immunoprecipitation and purification of both polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies from mammalian species.
Scientific Description
Protein A agarose consists of the native protein A immobilized on 4% cross linked agarose beads. It is made for the binding of immunoglobulins. Protein A is very heat and acid stable.
