PKB alpha (AKT1) is a member of the PKB family, which is responsive to cell activation. The anti-PKB alpha antibodies, also known as phospho-AKT (Ser473) antibody, were raised with a peptide based on the sequence of the human PKB C-terminal end and affinity purified with the same peptide on agarose. The affinity purified antibodies are useful for detection and isolation of PKB alpha from cell lysates.

AKT is also known as protein kinase B (PKB). It is an important molecule in mammalian cellular signalling. It inhibits apoptotic processes and is involved in cellular survival pathways. It also induces protein synthesis pathways.

Product is stable for several weeks at 4°C. For extended storage, store product at -20°C. Expiration date is one year from date of shipping if stored properly.
