AKT3, also known as protein kinase B gamma (PKB gamma), is a member of the PKB family, which is responsive to cell activation. The anti-AKT3 antibody is raised with a peptide derived from the C-terminal sequence of human AKT3, and affinity purified with the same peptide conjugated to affinity matrix.

Protein kinase B (PKB) or AKT is a serine/threonine kinase. In mammals, the three highly homologous members of PKB are PKB alpha (AKT1), PKB beta (AKT2) and PKB gamma (AKT3). These enzymes are involved in important cellular processes such as glucose metabolism, cell proliferation, apoptosis, transcription and cell migration.
