AKT2, also known as protein kinase B beta (PKB beta), is a member of the PKB family, which is responsive to cell activation. The anti-AKT2 antibody is raised with a peptide derived from the C-terminal sequence of human AKT2, and affinity purified with the same peptide conjugatd to affinity matrix.

Protein kinase B (PKB) or AKT is a serine/threonine kinase. Three highly homologous members of PKB in mammals are PKB alpha (AKT1), PKB beta (AKT2) and PKB gamma (AKT3). This enzyme is involved in important cellular processes such as glucose metabolism, cell proliferation, apoptosis, transcription and cell migration.
