  • Product Description

This antibody is obtained by immunization with purified human hemoglobin (Hb) and affinity purified with human Hb-agarose. The purified hemoglobin antibody is covalently linked to horseradish peroxidase (HRP). The product can be utilized for detection and quantification of human hemoglobin in ELISA and WB methods.
  • Scientific Description

Hemoglobin is the iron-containing oxygen-transport metalloprotein in the red blood cells. Hemoglobin concentration measurement is among the most commonly performed blood tests, usually as part of a complete blood count. In medicine, hemoglobinuria is a condition in which the hemoglobin is found in abnormally high concentrations in the urine. This condition is often associated with hemolytic anemia, in which red blood cells (RBCs) are destroyed, thereby increasing levels of free plasma hemoglobin. Excess hemoglobin is filtered by the kidneys, which excrete it into the urine, giving urine a purple color.
